The calculator treats a footing as a straight rectangular trench. Length is in feet. Width and depth are in inches. An above-grade curb belongs on the curb calculator. The result is a quantity estimate, not a concrete order.

Assumptions
Width and depth are divided by 12. Volume in cubic feet is length × width × depth. Cubic yards equal that volume divided by 27. Corners that are counted twice in a closed loop should be subtracted, or measure the centerline once.
Empty fields and values of zero or less are rejected. Frost depth, soil bearing, and steel placement are not part of this estimate. A thickened slab edge is closer to a footing than to a uniform slab; run this tool for the thickened band and the slab tool for the field.
