What to tell a ready-mix plant
Pour Plan does not place a concrete order. A ready-mix plant will still ask a short list of questions. Write the answers before you call, so the yards from the calculator do not get lost on the phone.
The number they will round
Have the cubic yards from the slab calculator or the driveway calculator, plus the extra for waste you chose. Say that it is a planning figure. Many plants sell in quarter-yard steps. They may also have a minimum load. Those rules belong to the plant, not to this page.
Access they cannot see
Can a mixer reach the forms with a chute, or will you move it with a wheelbarrow? Is there a low wire, a tight gate, or a lawn that cannot take a loaded truck? A dispatcher would rather hear that now than when the truck is in the street.
What they will ask that this site does not pick
Slump, mix strength, air, fiber, and unload time are product and placement questions. The calculator does not choose them. If someone already gave you a mix on a plan or a bag, read that number back. If nobody did, say so. Do not invent a PSI because a website felt empty without one.
Timing
Have a window, a crew size you actually have, and a backup if it rains. Frozen ground and standing water are a no. A damp, firm pad is a different morning.
