Assumptions

The calculator treats the driveway as one flat rectangle. If the apron is wider than the lane, split the shape and add the two volumes. Thickness is entered in inches and converted to feet before the multiplication. Cubic yards equal cubic feet divided by 27.

Empty fields and values of zero or less are rejected. The estimate does not thicken the edges, add a waste factor, or price labor. A slope for drainage changes the surface, not this volume formula, unless you change the average thickness.

After the result, a 10 percent extra for waste and typical bag counts are shown. Change those assumptions on the next pages if your subgrade or bag size is different.
